TRACTOR.
As time flews certain changes in the environment as well as in the world takes place. New technologies, new inventions are introduced to make human life easy and to reduced the workload. The best invention of mankind is “Tractor”. Heavy machinery which helps to do work easy and less time-consuming.
About & Info:
Tractor basically is a farm machine or vehicle which is used to perform mechanical functions on the field. The most important machinery in the agriculture field is tractor. It is an engineering vehicle used to generate torque at slow speed having a purpose for hailing machinery used in agriculture and construction. The agriculture implements are towed behind the tractor and provide a source of power if the implement is mechanized.
Invented by:- John Froelich
Invented year:-1892
The first tractor was:-Gasoline/petrol-powered tractor
Invented at:- Clayton country, Lowa, US.
Features:
- Ignition in engine
- Clutches
- Gear mashing
- Gear shifting
- No. of gears
- Hydraulic lifting capacity
- Brakes
- Engine rated rpm
- Steering
- Turbocharger.
Working:
The tractor has an internal combustion engine in it. This IC engine consists of a fixed cylinder and a moving piston. The piston compresses fuel-air-mixture, the spark, ignites it, causing combustion. The expansion of the combustion gases pushes the piston during the power stroke. In a diesel engine, only air is inducted into the engine and then compressed. It works on the ideal gas law i.e raising the temperature of a gas increases the pressure that makes the gas want to expand. In this way, Tractors pull implements (farm machines such as plows, trailers, manure spreaders, and so on) using a sturdy rod called a drawbar, which makes a secure but very flexible link between the tractor and whatever is following it.
Uses of Tractor:
- The practice of land preparation such as making furrows, rotator, cultivator, etc is done by tractors.
- Removing of weeds is done by the tractors.
- Goods are transported by the tractors from one place to another place.
- Planting and seeding is done correctly with the use of tractors.
- Different crops can be collected with the help of tractors.
- For shifting, PTO shaft.
- To pull levelers, trolleys, tankers tractors are largely used.
Types of the tractor:
1) Utility Tractors
2) Row Crop Tractors
3) Orchard Type Tractors
4) Industrial Tractors
5) GardenTractors
6) Rotary Tillers
7) Implement Carrier tractors
8) Earth Moving Tractors.
Price:
In India, tractors have different prices according to companies' brands.
The tractor price range is 80thousand to5,6 lac.
Some other points on the tractor:
Mahindra and Mahindra tractors are the no. 1 tractor brand in India.
The tractor is a high power lower speed traction such as trucks but designed for the use on road.
Three types of tractors are classified on the basis of horsepower i.e small tractors having 15 to 25 hp, medium tractors having 25 to 45hp, and large tractors having more than 45 hp.
