Since the first case was reported in Wuhan, China, coronavirus (COVID-19) has spread at an unprecedented rate. It was only concentrated in China at first, but it has now reached over 100,50 countries. As of April 10, 1621,756 people were infected and 97,185 deaths were reported. The impact on the whole world was enormous. It is therefore declared a pandemic and health emergency by the World Health Organization

In comparison with the 2003 SARS outbreak, new and emerging technologies can be employed by both governments and companies to prevent the virus’s worse effects. Public health organizations can help to build a comprehensive understanding of the virus using technology. It may also guide prevention measures, increase efforts to support people, and facilitate research into viruses.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most useful tools available to help us achieve this.

AI has come a long way in the last decade and now plays a vital role in the field of medical care. It has advanced tools for computing and data analysis. The medical industry has thus further deepened its understanding of infections and diseases. The virus needs to be stopped immediately.

Government agencies are examining techniques based on AI to provide relief and stop in the spread of the virus to new healthy people.

There are several ways in which AI can be used in combatting OCVID-19:

*Data reports:

AI can detect an outbreak through the analysis of news reports, social media platforms, and government documents for the identifying, follow-up, and forecasting of outbreaks.

*Diagnosis of the virus: –

*AI-powered diagnostic system:

Infer vision has launched a coronavirus AI solution to enhance the effective detection and monitoring of the virus by primary healthcare workers. The virus imposes heavy work burdens on health facilities, particularly imaging facilities. This solution improves CT speed considerably. The Chinese email giant Alibaba has also developed an AI-powered diagnostic system capable of diagnosing the virus in seconds.

*COVID-19 detection tool:

The cloud technology helps doctors and radiologists quicker and more accurately diagnose cases. CT scans that generate cross-section images on X-rays and computers typically were used after swabs were taken to determine the disease’s extent and location; CT scans generate images within minutes and can also diagnose COVID-19 at the very early stages of nuclear acid detection. As the testing speed of COVID-19 increases, the platform could facilitate quick training — a module that can be completed within a single hour — upgraded lung radiology personnel that are not familiar with the preparation of standard reports for expert reviews.

*Abbott ID NOW COVID-19 test:

A molecular point-of-care test system for the detection of patients infected with Covid-19 is Abbott ID NOW COVID-19. The qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid is facilitated in the suspected patient Covid-19.A portable light-weight (3 kg) COVID-19 small toaster-size testing device can be used at different sites, including the office of the healthcare provider, the clinic, and mobile devices in Abbott ID NOW COVID-19.

The ID NOWTM molecular platform of the test is an isothermic system based on instruments to quickly identify infectious diseases. Its nucleic amplitude technology enables precise test results to be achieved within a few minutes.

The test detects nucleic acid from the SARS-CoV-2 virus RNA, as well as swabs collected by healthcare suppliers from the suspected Covid-19 patients, from nasal, nasopharyngeal and throat swab.

*Diagnostic machines:

It is the machine for the detection of corona virus-infected patients. Diagnostic machines are used for screening tests worldwide Diagnostic machines:

*To deliver medical supplies:

Drone delivery is one of the fastest and safest ways of providing medical supplies during an outbreak of a disease. For the transportation of medical supplies and quarantine between the Controlling Center and the People’s hospital, Drones use aerial vehicles without crew. Drones may also be used for public place monitoring. This helps to identify individuals who do not follow regulations on quarantine. Drops and vehicles are also used to supply food and other supplies.

*Robots may be used for different tasks:

As robots do not affect the virus, they can be used for cleaning, sterilization, and food delivery tasks. This approach reduces the number of contacts between humans. UVD robots can autonomously use ultraviolet light to kill bacteria and viruses.

*Temperature monitoring tools:

Chinese facial recognition systems use temperature monitoring tools to identify people with a fever to identify sick individuals. The government will classify individuals with a greater risk of the virus by detecting these individuals.

*COVID-19 detection software:

The COVID 19 virus detection program is used in bulk. The doctors can simply upload photos of the X-ray of a person using the software established by the expert. The program, not nur identified the patient’s symptoms of pneumonia, but also assessed the extent of the infection and decided if they were caused by COVID-19 or other bacteria.

*Identification of infected people:

Temperature detection software is used in monitoring systems to identify those with fever. The government will classify individuals with a greater risk of the virus by detecting these individuals.

*Software application:

Some of the applications produced by specialists. The goal of this application is to raise awareness on COVID-19 and put important COVID-19 relevant health programs into the public domain. This app enhances the Health Department’s efforts to incorporate COVID-19 and offers best practices and advice. The software uses GPS and Bluetooth functionality to monitor the presence of the coronavirus. It is a monitoring program. With Bluetooth, the risk is calculated by scanning the case database of known individuals around the region if one has been close to (within six feet of) an infected COVID-19 human. It decides if, based on data, the place in which one is situated belongs to one of the infected areas.

Example of application:

Medical Diagnosis app, Arogya Setu app, etc.

AI helping to find drugs for the treat coronavirus:

To understand the proteins which make up the virus, Google uses its DeepMind AI algorithms. Others will then use these results to establish therapies. And also, artificial intelligence companies help to speed up the process of figuring out which medicines — whether new or existing — can be used to treat coronavirus.

Artificial intelligence helping to make advance fabric for protection:

Several start-ups have more protection against viruses by using materials based on metal oxide. AI assists them in constructing the most secure structures. Even this fabric is used because of its antimicrobial properties. Experts made possible antimicrobial paper and paper goods with their packaging technology and useful in households, in hospitals and clinics, in workplaces and schools, and around farms. This program leads to reducing infection.

Conclusion:

In fighting these pandemics, AI’s most important aspect is its speed and its vast number of data. This data volume cannot be handled with the same speed and efficiency by people alone. AI has become an infection and pandemic firewall. AI-based diagnostic methods can be used to prevent disease outbreaks in the future.
